Volunteer at The Pointe

Are you up for the excitement and the challenges of helping children discover they matter to God? Discovery Pointe Kids provides age appropriate experiences for children from 6 weeks through fifth grade, and our primary goal is to help each child discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Greeting

First impressions are very important to us at The Pointe. Our goal is to create “Wow” moments for each of our first-time guests within their first ten minutes at The Pointe. Come and be a part of one of these incredible teams!

 

Ground  Maintenance                                                                                    Would you like to be a part of the team that "wows" guests before they even step in the door? It may not seem like much, but curb appeal may  be the reason a new guest decides to stay and give God a chance!

Media and Technology
Are you interested in helping mix sound at the board, learning the audio/visual switcher system, cameras, lights, and all the dynamics that make for a powerful worship service? We'd love for you to lend a hand! We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Media and Technology Team.


MISSIONS

There are many ways that you can be involved in missions at The Pointe!  Each quarter, we participate in a church-wide mission project.  In addition, each Small Group seeks to lead an outreach project each quarter. 

Parking 

Would you like to join our newest team and be a part of greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive? We will provide training on how to safely provide direction to all arriving cars, and you get to wear a cool vest and use a walkie talkie!

Security                                                                                              Would you like to join our Security team and help ensure our children are safe and secure while they are in our care? We are always looking for volunteers during and in between services to provide added protection. Click here for more information on our awesome security procedures.

Small Groups
Are you ready to make some new connections – and help other people do the same? Are you willing to open up your home to a small group where people can connect and grow in their faith? Click here for more information on becoming a Small Group Host.

Stage Design
Worship is the most important environment we experience at The Pointe.  We express ourselves through music, the Word, stories, and visual display. All of it brings us to a point of experiencing Jesus Christ.  Is your gift in working with a team,creating a visual space for worship?  Can you build; do you have an eye for lighting, color, painting or other special props?  Join us as we pull our ideas and talents together to create an awesome space! 

Ushers
You've seen the people who  pass the baskets and collect Connection Cards each week, haven't you? They are your normal, average, everyday folks who are using their talents for the Lord. We would love for you to become a part of our team. Please consider joining us in this very special part of our service.

Worship Band
Did you ever see people on the "stage" singing and playing music and think, "I could do that!”? We would love to find a place for you to serve God using your God-given talents. Please send our Worship Leader, John Tomlinson, a short email listing your interest (i.e. vocalist, guitar, drums) and any experience you may have.

Weekday Opportunities
Are you unable to help on Sundays, but would like to serve at home or at The Pointe Ministry Office during the week? We have the perfect opportunities for you!

First Time Guest Phone Calls
If you enjoy getting to know new people and talking on the phone, we have a great opportunity for you! Every week we have first time guests at The Pointe, and we are always looking for people to call and welcome them. We will give you names, phone numbers and even a script!

Note card Writers
Do you remember how special you felt when you received your first-time and second-time gift cards in the mail? Did it make you feel welcome at The Pointe? You too can be a part of making this lasting impression on others by writing cards during the week. We will provide the notecards, envelopes, stamps and even scripts if needed!

Worship Guide Preparation
Do you have any free time on a Thursday afternoon around 4:00 pm to stuff worship guides or during your lunch hour Tuesday or Wednesday to unstuff unused worship guides? Come and join us at The Pointe Ministry Office for a time of fellowship and fun as we prepare for the weekend services!
